Greetings!

I'm Michelle, and I'm a new reader of YU+ME. Vital statistics? I'm 23, a University of Texas alum, partnered lesbian. I work full time in a hotel kitchen and draw lesbian comics on the side. (Not sure if I can link: Some not safe for work or kiddos.) I'm normally very shy about posting in forums, but this seems like a small, friendly group so I thought I'd give it a try.

I'm a big fan of lots of queer comics artist like Alison Bechdel, Joan Hilty, and Colleen Coover. I just found out about Megan's comics a few weeks ago. (Yes, I've been hiding under a rock the last couple years--why do you ask?) Megan is a real inspiration to me (as well as an occasional source of jealousy since we're so close to the same age and she's got so much great work behind her already). I'm planning to read from start to finish as soon as I get some days off. The art is beautiful and I can't wait to read and see what happens!

Love,

Michelle

Welcome to the forums Michelle!

I was once like you and didn't know of the wonderful world of YU+ME and found it a week ago. I think your going to love the rest of the comic so keep reading.

I would recommended a deviant account for your comics and when you do let us know. (I would like to see them.)

Anyways welcome again and don't be shy! ^_^

Hello again and thanks for the welcome!

I read a most of yesterday evening and got to page 450 or so. Had to slow down after that, because, of course, it gets more complex after the twist. I'm wholly in favor of it, by the way. There's piles of nearly indistinguishable schoolgirl romance comics and animes out there (I should know, my girlfriend loves them Rolling Eyes ) so kudos to Megan for taking a different direction with her story.

What I have up is pretty modest, but lots more is on the way. I just finished a site upgrade about a month ago. There's some four-panel funnies from my college newspaper days, and the first few pages of a lesbian sex comic I'm about one issue into creating. You can check it out at http://www.girlfiendcomics.com. (Moderators please remove if not allowed. NSFW, in case the phrase "lesbian sex comic" wasn't a tip-off. Mostly just boobies and cuss words, but still. Very Happy )

Anyways...I'll get back to y'all when I've done more reading!
