Consciences

I have a theory on Dreamworld consciences. People from our world don't have tangible consciences here but they do in Nod. So maybe the people of Nod don't have tangible consciences in their home world but they would if they came here. Just a passing thought, but it seems reasonable to me.

if you've read the dark material's trilogy meg explained the councious being a lot like daemons of lyra's world. All humans have a daemon BUT depending on the world you see them or you don't and even if your from one of the worlds were your daemon is hidden there are still ways to see them if you do it right (like how will got his even if he wasn't from Lyra's world and how the doctor learned to 'see' hers). So Nod brings out this person much like a daemon when your there but when you're back on earth you don't see them (but of course they're still there).

Meg said in the comic the people of Nod don't have counciouses because the don't have them at all. They're not human. Fiona, Lia, Sadako all are.

You have a valid point, but I don't believe that rules out my theory as a possibilty. XD We can't really know unless a person from Nod goes to Earth. Even though they aren't human, they still do have consciences‏ and so I think it's plausible.
And I have read the Dark Materials books, they're awesome!

Actually it does rule out your theory about Noddians having consciences....since they already know all the answers to life's big questions what would the point of them having them just because they changed worlds be?




And if you take the George W. Bush comment to heart that means they know stuff about OUR world too not just the dream world.

They need to know about our world. They're acting in our dreams, and though a lot of them can be pretty far removed from reality, most of them still take details from our waking lives.

Hello again everyone!
I had given up on trying to convince you all of my theory, but with this new evidence I just wanted to mention again that I still believe it would be possible for the People of Nod to have external consciences if they came to our world. I recognise this theory does take into account the differences between the People of Nod and humans. The barrier between worlds may not affect them the same way, or it may not even be possible for the people of Nod to travel between worlds.

Even if you don't, that's cool. I just like people listening to my odd ramblings- I don't really get to talk much about Yu+Me in real life. XD
Now the comment about consciences being like daemons makes more sense to me.
