Howdy, folks, my name's Roland Lowery (mail bombers, please take note), tho' I like trolling around these here internets by the name of Jim North. I'm a currently unemployed going-on 30 manly man living in Branson, MO (please, guys, I really really need exploding packages delivered to me on a regular basis, I've got a quota).

I've been reading YU+ME for . . . a couple of years now? That sounds about right. Well before the Big Reveal, anyway. And I've loved it the whole way through. I've posted a couple of times in the shoutbox thingy, but finally decided I might try wasting some time here in the forums as well.

Speaking of the Big Reveal, I'm gonna go ahead and jump on a side here and say that I think it was a most excellent shift and have been enjoying the dreamworld aspect immensely. When the reveal came up, my full reaction was, "Oh. Ooooooh. Well. Shit. That makes so much sense! Really should have seen that coming." So no whinyness from me. Keep the comic going like it is, I say.

And I suppose that's it for now. I've given out personal information, stated my fannishness for the comic, and possibly made a few enemies already. Not bad for my first day!

Totally awesome for your first day. Cool

I had a similar reaction to the Reveal. Except I started yelling, "YOU'RE A GENIUS, OMG, GENIUS!!" at a very late time of night and kissing her a lot hahaha.

Oh, yes, definitely genius. It immediately made so much of the previous story click . . . the almost stream-of-consciousness dream-like quality of the story (which makes the more linear feel of the current storyline even more delightfully ironic), the word "dream" in all the early issue titles, the fact that Fiona's Conscience seemed to have actual presence. The little niggling bits like Sarah's completely abrupt heel/face turn and relationship with Cass suddenly made complete sense upon reading this page. Going back and re-reading the entire archive has been extremely interesting, seeing all the double meanings of each scene.

Also interesting was when I learned just recently (while looking up stuff completely unrelated to the comic!) that "yume" is the Japanese word for "dream". In the end, it's almost as if everything about the comic was screaming "THIS IS ALL A DREAM" right from the beginning and none of us were listening.

It's brilliant.
